Library Policies
The following policies govern how we use our library.
RULES FOR BORROWERS
- Any resident of the CCRLS area may obtain a library card with the proper identification. Identification for an adult is an Oregon Driver’s License or I.D. A parent must sign for children (under 18) and present a Birth Certificate of the child in order to get a card. Children must be at least 4 years old. Proof of physical & mailing address is needed.
2. Overdue fines are 25 cents per day for Books, CD’s & Cassettes, and 1.00 per day for Videos & DVD’s. No items will be checked out to a patron owing more then $5.00.
- Patrons will also be charged for damaged or lost materials. If the item is one of a set, then the cost of the set is charged.
- All materials are checked out for 2 weeks. Items may be renewed over the phone or Internet. If after the due date, there will be a charge for the time between the due date and the day they were renewed, including weekends and holidays. Renewal is 2 weeks from the date the patron renews. NOTE: Items belonging to other libraries may have different due dates.
- Library cards must be presented when checking out items. If a card is lost or stolen, please report it right away. A replacement card costs $1.00. Remember: NO CARD, NO BOOK, NO EXCEPTION. Key chain cards are available for $1.00.
- Patrons are allowed to place holds on items. The librarian will not take requests over the phone for holds. There is a 50 cent charge for holds not picked up.
- Reference materials are to be used in the library and may not be checked out.
- There is a limit of 10 books per person and 5 Videos / DVD’s and 5 audio items per household, per checkout.
- The City of Lyons will not be liable for accidents. Library facilities are provided at the patrons’ risk. Patrons must control their children or will be asked to leave.
- An Annual Universal fee of $60.00 per household allows full service at CCRLS Libraries for non-residents within the CCRLS boundaries.
- The internet is provided with signup & I.D. No more than 2 – 1 hour visits per week.
